The story of Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi colony is like any of the previous colonies that were created and were later turned into the chapters that now make up Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity Inc.
It started when Brother Ricardo Trevino of Epsilon Beta chapter transferred to TAMUCC. While in school, he had a part time job where he eventually was working with two of the ten founding members of the colony, Bro. Tony Fernandez and Bro. Luis Saucedo.
From there Brothers Tony and Luis started an interest group which consisted of Bro. Richard Salinas, Bro. Sergio Aguilar, Bro Aaron Johnson, Bro. Ismael Martinez, Bro. Hildebrando Mireles III and Bro. Marcos Munoz. From this initial meeting these original members of the interest group further recruited Bro. Eddie Diaz, Bro. Jesus Garcia, Bro. Ricardo Guerra Jr. and Carlos Lizcano.
In Spring 2002 Brother Rudy Rodriguez transferred to TAMUCC to assist Brother Ricardo Trevino in the creation of the Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity colony here.
Helping Brothers Rick and Rudy were the Brothers from Omega Alpha Chapter, Brothers from Mu Chapter, Brothers from Lambda Beta Chapter, Brothers from Eta Beta Chapter, Brothers from Sigma Beta Chapter, Brothers from Epsilon Beta Chapter, Brothers from UTEP colony, Brothers from Eta Alpha Chapter.
Because of certain situations Carlos Lizcano was unable to join us in our transformation into Brothers. He has not been forgotten.
On May 6, 2002 the Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity Inc. colony of Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi was officially founded. In doing so we became the first Latino-based fraternity in Corpus Christi.
In the Fall of 2003 the brothers at TAMUCC set forth in recruitment of new members and to make a difference in the university and the community.
On February 22, 2003 a new chapter in the colony was written with the addition of the Alpha Line. The Alpha Line consists of Bro. Fred Nunez, Bro. Joe Mungia, Bro. Luis Escobar, Bro. Vincent Valdes, and Bro. Marcos Munoz.
The next step for the colony was for the Alpha Line, with the assistance of some of the founders, to recruite for the Beta Line.
That search came to an end, when on October 11, 2003 the Beta Line was introduced to the university and the world. The Beta Line consists of Bro. Ronald Flecha, Bro. Nathan Gonzalez and Bro. A.R. Cantu.
In 2004 the brothers introduced the Gamma Line, Bro. David Garza, on January 18 and the Delta Line, Byron Turner, on August 15.
In 2005 with the combined hard work of the exsiting brothers and the help of Bro. Robert DeSantos, Epsilon Beta Chapter, and Bro. Miguel Lara, Sigma Beta Chapter, Corpus Christi welcomed the Epsilon Line on May 1, 2005.
